JOE CHAPMAN RETURNS TO EAGLES
- Updated: August 19, 2010
Joe Chapman has re-signed for a second season at Newcastle Eagles. The question now: can the reigning BBL Player of the Year earn a starting slot?
The Chicago-born guard recovered from an awkward start to become a major factor in the Eagles’ charge to overhaul Sheffield to retain the BBL title, emerging as one of the best shooting guards in the league.
‘I’m very excited about this upcoming year,” Chapman told the Eagles website. “There are still a lot of things to prove from a team point of view. We won the league but we didn’t win the play-off championship. That’s my motivation so to all Eagles fans – let’s get ready to fly again.’
Newcastle are also understood to have agreed a deal in principle to bring point guard Trey Moore, who spent last season with Everton, back to Tyneside as well as with club captain Andrew Bridge.
Elsewhere, Worcester Wolves signed England international David Watts.
