Everyone knows Kevin Garnett talks trash. Fair enough. But his latest antics have left many seriously, seriously unimpressed.

After Detroit’s loss to the Boston Celtics on Tuesday, Pistons’ forward Charlie Villanueva tweeted: “KG called me a cancer patient, I’m pissed because, u know how many people died from cancer, and he’s tossing it like it’s a joke.”

In case you don’t know, Villanueva (who went to high school with Luol Deng) has Alopecia Areata – a condition which causes hairloss. The 6′ 11″ forward doesn’t have a single hair on his head (including eye brows and – as far as I can tell – eye lashes).

Garnett issued a statement refuting the claims. “My comment to Charlie Villanueva was in fact: ‘You are cancerous to your team and our league’,” he said.

If I’m honest, I believe Charlie V on this one.

Villanueva’s catching a lot of heat for what he did. Jeff Van Gundy is one of many who thinks Twitter was not the place to air this beef.

“He crossed the line by tweeting it,” he said. “He had a chance to do something about it during the game. Go to it. If you were that offended, and it is offensive if it was said, go to it right there.”

But regardless, if KG did say that, it was LOW. Even if it was uttered in the heat of battle, KG is a grown-ass man and should know better.

With all this drama whirling around Garnett, you’d think he might watch his actions. But oh no – check him throwing a bow at Andrew Bogut just two days later.

I used to think Kevin Garnett was great – a talented player with a big personality who wore his heart on his sleeve. But this stuff is just not on.

KG – you’re not Da Kid anymore, man…show some class.
