RIDERS GET STRAIGHT TO THE POINT

Leicester Riders have signed American rookie point guard Cameron Rundles out of Wofford University in South Carolina.
The Minneapolis native graduated from Wofford in May. He finished his career with 706 points in only two seasons. During his senior season he was eleventh in the SoCon in scoring, tenth in minutes played and fifth in three pointers made. He was voted third team All-Southern Conference by the media.
He also earned spots on the 2010 and 2011 SoCon All-Tournament Teams.
Riders coach Rob Paternostro was forced to search for a new guard after JR Blount’s retirement at the end of last season.
“Cameron is someone I have been tracking for a while and he comes to us as a very highly rated, talented and versatile combo guard, who will give us lots of options,†said Paternostro.
“I have talked to many of my contacts who have seen him play, and the verdicts were unanimous – we are getting a quality guy and a winner. Cameron is particularly strong on leadership and doing all the little things that can make a team better, and that kind of leadership is just what we need at the guard position.
“He shoots the ball very well, can defend a number of positions, and is just one of those guys you want to have in your team. I can’t wait to see him here and I am very confident he can adjust to the demands of the BBL.”
