We never thought we’d see the day – but Luol Deng is currently adorning billboards and bus stops across the UK, as part of Nike’s latest marketing drive. And now he’s even starring in a video version of the campaign.
The Bulls forward is one of several top British athletes featuring in Nike’s ‘Make It Count’ initiative, which sees him and the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Mark Cavendish and Mo Farah pledging to make this Olympic year count.
Lu has certainly been doing just that so far – averaging over 15 points and a career high 7.4 rebounds per game for the Bulls, helping them to a 13-3 record (good for second in the NBA, first in the East). After narrowly missing out on the Finals last season, Deng has promised: ‘I’ll Return to Deliver’ – with his sights set on achieving his ultimate goal of an NBA Championship, before returning to his home town to represent his country at the Games.
Check out the video – and tell the world how you plan to step your game up in 2012, with the hashtag #makeitcount.
