Great Britain’s women have been handed an gruelling 18-game build-up to the Olympic Games with friendlies in six countries, including a long-haul trip to China.
Tom Maher’s squad will assemble in May in Surrey for their initial training camp before ties in Croatia and Belgium.
The first opportunity to see the GB women in action on home soil will be on June 9-10 in Edinburgh when they face Canada at Meadowbank Sports Centre.
Maher will then take his side back on the road to the Czech Republic and Turkey before heading to China for games against the hosts, Angola and reigning European champions Russia.
Britain then complete their preparations in the UK with a four-team tournament in Sheffield, staged in conjunction with two men’s games. It will see GB face 2008 Olympic silver medallists, Australia, as well as the powerful France and Angola.
Their last tune-up before heading to London will be against defending Olympic champions USA in Manchester on July 18.
