PUERTO RICO LONDON-BOUND
- Updated: May 29, 2013
Great Britain’s men are set to host Puerto Rico in their lone home appearance this summer, MVP understands.
The friendly will be staged at London’s Copper Box Arena on August 11 in what is expected to be the team’s first game under new head coach Joe Prunty.
It is thought that the two sides will also play a day later behind closed doors with GB then travelling to Finland for a pre-EuroBasket warm-up on August 15 at Helsinki’s Hartwall Arena.
The Puerto Ricans, who failed to qualify for last year’s Olympics following a first-round exit at the 2010 world championships, will be preparing for the FIBA Americas Championships in Venezuela which begin on August 30.
