DAN CLARK JOINS ZARAGOZA
- Updated: July 24, 2013
Great Britain international Dan Clark has joined Zaragoza from Spanish League rivals Estudiantes Madrid.
The London-born forward ends a seven-year stint in Spain’s capital, having joined Estu at the age of 17.
But he is understood to have grown frustrated at the uncertainty over his playing time and, having explored other options last summer, has now been handed a fresh start on a team that will also compete in the EuroCup next term.
“I’m looking forward to being part of this project,” he said. “It will be good to be able to play in two competitions and to get to know other teams in Europe.
“The most important thing is that CAI Zaragoza is back playing in Europe and, after last year, is looking up. I can’t wait to help them win games.”
The 22-year-old, a member of Great Britain’s Olympic team, is expected to report at national team camp in Staffordshire on August 6. And with a number of established colleagues absent, he will likely be handed a major role by new head coach Joe Prunty.
A source within the Chicago Bulls has re-confirmed there will be no change of heart from Luol Deng over his availability.
– GB Women’s international Azania Stewart has joined Australian WNBL side Adelaide Lightning. The centre will be re-united with Great Britain assistant coach Peter Buckle at the team.
