DURHAM SECURE PLAYOFF DEBUT

Ralph Bucci had a triple-double as Durham Wildcats secured their first-ever playoff appearance after beating Cheshire Phoenix 104-96 on the final day of the British Basketball League season.
Danny Huffor scored 26 points while Bucci added 16 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists as the Wildcats romped into a 35-17 first quarter lead before resisting Cheshire’s fightback.
Manchester Giants claimed the final post-season berth ahead of Plymouth Raiders by using a second-half flurry to thrash London Lions 97-86.
Sheffield Sharks pipped Worcester Wolves to the runners-up spot on head-to-head with their 81-71 defeat of Plymouth.
On Saturday, Durham’s 113-81 rout of Birmingham Knights ensured the league rookies ended their campaign with a 0-35 record.
