WORLD CUP MOVES INTO KNOCKOUT PHASE

With the preliminary phase complete, the FIBA World Cup now moves into the knockout stages with two Americas derbies headlining the round of 16.

The United States, who join Spain and Greece in taking forward an unbeaten record, face Mexico on Saturday in Barcelona for a place in quarter-finals.

While old rivals Brazil and Argentina square off in Madrid for a spot in the last eight.

Round of 16 draw

Barcelona: USA v Mexico, Dominican Rep v Slovenia, Turkey v Australia, New Zealand v Lithuania.

Madrid: Spain v Senegal, France v Croatia, Brazil v Argentina, Serbia v Greece.
