JETER PASSES ON EUROBASKET
- Updated: June 24, 2015

Pooh Jeter has revealed he will not play for Ukraine at EuroBasket 2015.
The American-born point guard, one of the stars of the team’s run at the 2013 edition of the tournament, will opt of this summer’s national team run for family reasons – just weeks after it was confirmed that Mike Fratello will not return as head coach in the wake of the departure of ex-NBA forward Sasha Volkov as Federation president.
It comes after Jeter helped Limoges win the French Pro A championship, having joined the side mid-season from the Chinese League.
“I’m a free agent,” Jeter said. “I want to enjoy time with my new-born son. My sister (Carmelita) is running in the world athletics championships in August in China.
“And the coaching staff and Volkov are not coming back. That’s huge.”
Ukraine, who were originally due to host EuroBasket 2015 before political instability hit the country, are in Group D of the first round of the tournament in Riga.
