Joel Freeland has joined CSKA Moscow, ending his three-year NBA stint.

The one-time Great Britain international is understood to have passed on a late approach from the Dallas Mavericks to remain across the Atlantic, weeks after his contract option was declined by the Portland Trail Blazers at the end of June.

The Surrey-born forward, 28, who moved to the NBA from Malaga in 2012, confirmed his arrival at the Euroleague giants via Twitter, on what is thought to be a guaranteed two-year deal.

Freeland averaged 3.5 points and 4 rebounds in his Stateside spell.
