Chantelle Handy helped Great Britain completed their EuroBasket Women qualifying campaign on a high against Albania

The veteran forward exploded for 31 points and ten rebounds as GB thrashed their hosts 97-55 in Tirana to finish with a 3-3 record.

And although Chema Buceta’s side already knew they were not destined for next summer’s finals in the Czech Republic, they delivered a clinical showing and never trailed after taking an immediate 8-0 lead.

A brief rally from the Albanians came to nothing and from the middle of the second period, the visitors dominated as they converted 56% from the field.

With the pressure off, GB ran wild with a 23-4 fourth quarter run adding some extra lustre with Ella Clark adding 16 points and Rachael Vanderwal 15.

Elsewhere in Group C, Italy’s perfect record fell at the last as Montenegro took a 66-57 win that saw them qualify for EuroBasket as a second-placed team.

Final standings: 1. Italy 5-1, 2. Montenegro 4-2, 3. Great Britain 3-3, 4. Albania 0-6.
