LORENZO REMAINS IN GB CHARGE

Alberto Lorenzo will stay in interim charge of Great Britain for the summer’s World Cup qualifiers.

The Spaniard, who took over caretaker following the ousting of Tony Garbelotto after initially signing on as an assistant to Joe Prunty in 2014, will be at the helm for the games against Estonia and Israel at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena in the international window which opens at the end of June.

He is currently 0-2 with GB yet to win a game in their group and needing two victories – and other results to go their way – to have any chance of progressing into the second phase of qualification.

The contest against Estonia on June 29 is expected to see captain Kieron Achara pick up his 100th cap for GB.
