Vincent Lavandier has been named as the head coach of Glasgow Rocks until the end of the season.

The Frenchman was confirmed on Thursday, two weeks after the surprise exit of Darryl Wood at the Emirates Arena.

He will arrive in this weekend and take charge for the first time in an away trip to Newcastle Eagles on March 8.

“My coming to Glasgow Rocks as head coach is a great opportunity, and a pride,” he said.

“Moreover, I am satisfied to meet Gareth Murray and Greg Pryor whom I coached in France.

“However, the road will be long and difficult to go to the playoffs. I count on the daily involvement of players to make a major effort to succeed in this challenge. The whole team will have to work even more.”
