Glasgow Rocks boss Gareth Murray picked up an early Christmas present by signing American duo Christian Keeling and Ronald Delph.

Keeling, 22, arrives straight out of a high-profile college stint as a shooting guard at the University of North Carolina.

While Delph, a towering 2.13-metre centre, has split the past two seasons between the Lithuanian, Latvian and Canadian leagues.

And Murray is hoping the duo will give his struggling side – currently the lowest scorers in the BBL – an extra punch once they clear quarantine and get the green light to play.

“Christian comes in as big time scorer at Charleston Southern before transferring his final year to UNC where he also made a big impact,” Murray said.

“He can score in multiple ways and will add some fire power to our offense.

“Ron is a very mobile 7-foot tall centre with a versatile skill set. He brings some experience in Europe already having played in the Basketball Champions League and I expect him to adapt well to this league.

“He has good footwork and touch around the basket. But also has the ability to be a rim protector on defence. He will match up well with the other big guys teams have brought in this year.

“I am very happy we have managed to add a couple of American players to the roster. It gives us some depth and adds more competition in practice with the ability to multiple different lineups and styles.”

Both players have arrived in the UK and are under quarantine so it remains unclear if they will be available for Sunday’s Glasgow – Newcastle clash.
