ARCHIBALD BACK IN MALAGA

The former NBA player is heading back to the Costa Del Sol after agreeing a pay cut
Scottish star Robert Archibald has agreed a new one-year contract with Spanish giants Unicaja Malaga, despite being forced to accept a pay cut.
The former NBA centre, who had been linked with Greek side Olympiakos, has missed Great Britain’s European qualifying campaign due to a back injury.
However the 30-year-old will re-join the Euroleague outfit next season in a deal reportedly worth £300,000, teaming up with fellow GB cap Joel Freeland.
“It took a while to get the deal done because he wanted a deal that was for more than a year and we only offered him one season,” said Malaga chief Monolo Rubia. “The player wanted to stay here where he is happy with the team and the city and we wanted back a player who understands team-work and who gives us a lot inside.”
Meanwhile fellow GB international Steve Leven has signed a two-year deal wuth Greek side Arkadikos, who are set to move into the A1 league for the forthcoming campaign after a crackdown on financially instable clubs.
