MIKE COPELAND TO MAKE GLASGOW ROCKS RETURN
- Updated: August 10, 2010
Glasgow Rocks coach Sterling Davis has challenged Mike Copeland to become a BBL All Star after agreeing a new one-year deal with the American forward.
The pair clashed frequently during Copeland’s first season with the Kelvin Hall outfit after the rookie struggled to adjust to life in the professional ranks.
However Davis believes that the 6’7†import can improve on his tallies of 13 points and 6 rebounds and take on more responsibility in his second campaign with the play-off finallists.
The Texan said: “The season ended too soon for Mike last year. I feel he was just getting used to the level of play and expectations on a nightly basis and really coming in each game better prepared – and that was on and off the court. Young guys just out of university sometimes don’t understand that your body is your livelihood and it needs to be taken care of.
“Once Mike understood that, those efforts he put in paid off for him. I expect bigger things from Mike this season with one under his belt now.â€
