LADI BLOG: THE EB CONSPIRACY
- Updated: November 23, 2010
MVP blogger Ladi Brown thinks there’s something fishy about the way England Basketball makes its match-up draws.
It’s been a very positive week – with wins in both the National League and BUCS. As a result, my EBL team, Brixton Topcats, now lie second in Division 1 – plus we’re through to the semis of the men’s National Cup and the quarters of the men’s National Trophy. Meanwhile my uni team, London Southbank, is top of the BUCS Premier leagues (both north and south).
Streak stays intact
We (LSBU) faced a very talented Oxford University team last week, whom I’m tipping for a good play-off run. In front of a packed home crowd, the game went down to the wire, as we put in our trademark ‘gritty’ performance. We hammered it out, made the right decisions down the stretch and pulled out the W…keeping our winning streak alive. Hopefully we can continue this momentum and keep improving.
Jumper’s not keeping me warm
Although it’s been good news for the team, I’ve experienced a slight slump the last two games. I’m struggling to find my rhythm. It’s not a big issue, but I am freezing on the bench (hahaha).
Teaching point 101: Work on your jump shot, as it really helps open up other facets of your game.
England Basketball Ppredictions
So we’ve made it to the semis of the National Cup and been drawn against London United. I predicted this would happen in discussions with fellow basketball gurus Albert Margai and Jermaine Purcell. EB wouldn’t want an all-London final, so they’ve pitted us against each other. I’m disappointed with EB, as I it was that obvious they were going to “draw” the fixtures this way. I’d like to know how the draw’s actually done. But it will be a good game, regardless – it’s away at The Harefield Academy on December 12th (time TBC – check back for updates).
Blake Griffin = R.O.Y
This guy is a BEAST. He reminds me of myself at the under 16s level (hahaha). He is literally averaging two posters a game. The top ten dunks of the year will be a Blake mixtape.
Blake Griffin for Prime Minister/ President.

Royal Family
There’s something in the news these days about a wedding. Personally, I couldn’t give a f… Sorry, I mean I don’t care, but if it means another Bank Holiday, thank you very much Prince William.
Peace
