MARTIN REJOINS PLYMOUTH AMID FORBES FEARS

Plymouth Raiders have moved quickly to strengthen their team by re-signing Anthony Martin until the end of the season, after it was revealed that Germayne Forbes has undergone further tests on his heart condition.

The Great Britain international, who missed the early part of this season due to the problem, has seen consulants in the city and results are expected by the weekend.

Martin will fill the void after joining as a free agent. The American-born guard has been playing this season in Denmark's premier league for Aabyhoj but their season has now finished.

"I'm delighted to have been able to get Anthony back to the city," said Raiders coach Gavin Love. "He's been a big favourite of the fans here for a few years now, and coming off the back of a good season in Denmark, he's in great shape and raring to go."

Although the BBL's signing deadline passed at the end of February, teams are allowed to make one change before the end of March if an injury occurs.

With forward James Burchell suffering a season-ending knee injury recently, and with the uncertainty around Forbes’ heart condition, the Raiders were permitted to add an extra player.
