POPS FRENCH SEASON IS OVER
- Updated: May 24, 2011
Pops Mensah-Bonsu will be getting an extended rest before Great Britain’s summer training camp opens after the forward suffered a season-ending shoulder injury.
The Londoner, who has averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds since joining French side Asvel-Villeurbanne in February, was hurt during his team’s play-off quarter-final win over Chalon-Saone.
Team officials have confirmed that the former NBA player will be out for six weeks to recover from the problem.
GB are due to open camp in Surrey on July 31 as the build-up to the Eurobasket finals begins.
