MARCOTULLIO EARNS SENIOR CALL-UP

Alex Marcotullio has been called up into Great Britain’s initial squad for the EuroBasket finals in Lithuania after his impressive performances at the European Under 20 Championships.

The Michigan-born guard, who qualifies to represent GB through a Scottish-born grandmother, was one of the most consistent performers in Bosnia, averaging 16 points and a team-high 6.1 rebounds per game during the tournament.

U20 team-mates Ryan Richards and Devon van Oostrum have also gained call-ups while Devan Bailey and Andrew Lawrence, who competed for the GB Futures squad in Germany last weekend, are additions as well.

The majority of Chris Finch’s squad are expected to report for training camp in Surrey next weekend with Luol Deng, who is already in the UK, expected to practice despite delays in finalising insurance arrangements.

Robert Archibald has been given additional leave to remain in Chicago with his baby son and will arrive ahead of the Olympic test event in mid-August.
