LONDON CALLING FOR MAGIC, NETS IN 2012
- Updated: July 20, 2011
The NBA is to stage regular season games in London for the second successive year after it was confirmed that the Orlando Magic will face the New Jersey Nets at The 02 arena on March 7 and 8.
The Nets, who are owned by Russian businessman Mikhail Prokhorov, moved two of their home ties to London last season when they met the Toronto Raptors in front of sell-out crowds.
However the overseas trip hangs on securing a resolution to the NBA’s current labour dispute between players and owners which threatens to delay the start of the new campaign.
Orlando, who reached the NBA Finals two years ago, previously played in the UK in 1993 when they met the Atlanta Hawks in a friendly at Wembley Arena.
