SPAIN, FRANCE INCLUDED IN GB BUILD-UP

Great Britain’s men will open their pre-Olympic training camp in Houston on June 11 with a number of high quality tests to follow on the road to the Games.
It forms part of a build-up to London 2012 that will see Chris Finch’s squad play 11 warm-up friendlies, including tough tests against Games rivals France, Spain and the USA.
They tip off with two friendlies apiece with Russia and Lithuania in Houston, with the European giants basing themselves in the USA ahead of the Olympic qualification tournament in Venezuela.
Returning to Europe, GB travel to meet 2011 EuroBasket finalists Spain and France on July 7 and 9.
Britain’s run-in then includes two games against Portugal at Sheffield Arena – and a clash with the USA in Manchester – before Finch’s men finalise their preparations in Belgium with ties against the hosts and Tunisia.
“We have a very busy preparation period this year with some tough opposition which will provide the best grounding for our side as they head to London,†said Finch.
“It is exciting that we will meet up with the GB women in Sheffield to play a double-header event and see the home fans again the following week when we meet the USA in Manchester. We hope that the home crowds will really get behind the guys and spur them on to some great competitive performances.”
