ARGENTINA THWARTED BY GB

Great Britain’s women ground a 81-65 win over Argentina in their second game of the weekend in Ankara.
Jo Leedham had 12 of her 23 points in the first quarter the GB pulled away but the key to the game was GB’s defence in the third quarter as they outscored the South Americans 26-10.
“Terrific effort tonight,” enthused coach Tom Maher. “Defensively we really put the brakes on them, especially in the third quarter.
“We stayed really aggressive offensively and we had a lot of contributors, so it was a fine win.”
Britain face Turkey on Sunday for the tournament’s top spot with both teams unbeaten so far.
