CLARK, LENZLY GIVEN OLYMPICS ALL CLEAR
- Updated: July 27, 2012
Mike Lenzly and Dan Clark have been cleared to play at the Olympic Games for Great Britain after passing late fitness tests on Friday morning.
The pair had been major doubts in recent days after picking up injuries last week in friendlies with the USA and Tunisia respectively.
Teams had until 10am on Friday to submit a request to replace an injured player.
“Thanks to some outstanding medical work by our medical team at our training base, both Dan and Mike have been cleared to play at the Olympics,” said performance director Chris Spice.
“Both players have worked tirelessly on their rehabilitation and should be congratulated for their efforts.”
GB face Russia in their Games opener on Sunday.
