POPS REMORSE FOR ON-COURT PUNCH
- Updated: November 29, 2013
Great Britain forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu has apologised after his involvement in a brawl during a Euroleague clash between Galatasaray and Olympiakos in Athens.
The Londoner, who has been in impressive form since joining the Istanbul outfit, received a three-game ban and a €10,001 fine after throwing a punch at Mirza Begic while both were jostling for a rebound.
Mensah-Bonsu joined the Turkish side earlier this month following a lengthy spell on the sidelines..
“I would like to apologise to my family, teammates, the fans, the Galatasaray organization, Olympiacos and the Euroleague,” he said.
“I take pride in being a true professional and this was not a proud moment for me. “I am held to higher standard that of which I hold myself to as well, in retrospect I can only apologise for my inappropriate actions.”
