BOSNIANS PUSH GB TO BRINK

Great Britain v PolandGreat Britain’s hopes of reaching next summer’s EuroBasket finals suffered a massive blow as Joe Prunty’s men were beaten 80-67 by Bosnia in London.

It leaves GB winless midway through their four-game qualifying group and they had no answer for Brooklyn Nets forward Mirza Teletovic who scored 25 points as the visitors cruised as much as 23 clear before resisting a late rally.

Even the introduction of Glasgow Rocks forward Gareth Murray into the starting line-up couldn’t spark the hosts who hit the first basket but never led again after the Bosnians went on an 11-1 run before sweeping 46-31 in front at half-time.

And despite a team-best 14 points from Dan Clark and 13 from Scottish star Kieron Achara, a fourth quarter fightback that closed the gap to 73-66 ran out of steam, leaving Britain needing to beat Iceland by more than 13 next Wednesday to have any hopes of advancing.
