The Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook says he agrees with coach Scott Brooks’ assessment that he’s the best point guard in the league.
Westbrook has been known to make some questionable decisions in his time. See the videos below if you don’t believe us, or check out this article.
But his coach, Scott Brooks, believes the 25-year-old is the “best point guard in basketball” — something he player himself doesn’t disagree with.
“That’s how I feel,†he says. “I don’t know what to tell you. I felt like that since I got in the league. That’s my mindset. As a rookie, I come in and I felt like I’m the best player on the floor. That’s the way I played since college. Just how I think.”
A new ESPN poll doesn’t agree however, with just 17% of Americans rating Westbrook as the L’s best PG.
Westbrook does have decent credentials to back his claim up though. He has averaged at least 20 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game the past four seasons.
The only other player in the league to do that? LeBron James.
