Glasgow Rocks are rolling the dice to make a run at the BBL Trophy and Playoffs after a surprise shake-up of their roster.

Having passed on bringing back Gareth Murray, the Scottish outfit have freed American point guard JaJuan Smith and will bring in ex-Cheshire Phoenix playmaker Reggie Middleton, subject to visa clearance.

“It was a mutual agreement,” the departing Smith, who led the Rocks to the BBL Cup final last week, told MVP.

“A huge thank you to Glasgow Rocks and the fans. I’ve had a great time here and wish the team every success for the rest of the season.”

In a statement issued late on Wednesday, the Rocks claimed the veteran had been “released by the club due to misconduct related incidences.”
