GB HIT BY LOW DRAW SEEDING
- Updated: November 21, 2016

Great Britain will be placed in the sixth and lowest batch of seeds when the draw for next summer’s EuroBasket takes place in Istanbul on Tuesday.
With some aspects of the draw pre-determined, Joe Prunty’s side – who missed out on the 2015 tournament – will either be based in Istanbul or in Tel Aviv for the initial group stages.
It is understood the seedings only take into account results from FIBA Europe competitions, meaning ranking points accumulated from the past two Olympic Games have been disregarded.
Pot 1: Spain, Lithuania, France, Serbia
Pot 2: Greece, Italy, Czech Republic, Latvia
Pot 3: Croatia, Israel, Turkey, Finland
Pot 4: Russia, Slovenia, Hungary, Georgia
Pot 5: Germany, Belgium, Poland, Montenegro
Pot 6: Iceland, Great Britain, Ukraine, Romania
The host federations had the right to choose one partner federation, who will be automatically drawn into the same group. The partnerships bring together Finland and Iceland, Israel and Lithuania, Romania and Hungary, and Turkey and Russia.
The draw ceremony will take place from 2pm and will be streamed live on mvp247.com
