ITALY GEAR UP FOR GB CLASH
- Updated: November 9, 2016

Italy have named a 16-strong initial squad for next week’s crucial EuroBasket Women qualifier with Great Britain in Lucca.
The Azzurre are 4-0 atop the group, including a 60-48 win in Manchester last year, and victory would seal their qualification for the Czech Republic next summer ahead of their final tie against Montenegro.
“We face a very tough match,” Italy coach Andrea Capobianco said. “Britain is playing for everything and has a complete staff for this occasion. On the other hand, if we want to have ambitions as a team, we must be able to deal with games like these.
“Surely we will be faced with difficulties but we’ll be certain that the public of Lucca, as always, will give us a hand. We have a week to prepare well, we will have to use every minute of time.”
