GB WOMEN LEARN EURO FATE

Great Britainâ€™s women have been paired with Greece, Israel and Portugal in the qualifiers for the 2019 EuroBasket.

GB were seeded in the third of four pools ahead of the draw but will be quietly confident with the eight group winners, plus the best six second-placed sides, joining co-hosts Serbia and Latvia at the finals.

The Greeks, who finished a surprising fourth at this summer’s EuroBasket, will be the toughest foes but Israel and Portugal will be less formidable if the Brits – who missed out on the 2017 edition – arrive at full strength.

The qualifiers are provisionally scheduled for November 11 / 15, 2017, February 10 / 14, 2018, and November 17 / 21, 2018; with teams playing two games in each window.

GB will host Israel in their opener before travelling to Greece the following week. Then it will be Portugal and Israel away in February before visits from the Greeks and Israelis to finish.
