Temi Fagbenle has become the first Brit to win a WNBA Championship.

The Great Britain centre was an unused reserve but saw her Minnesota Lynx beat 2016 victors, the Los Angeles Sparks, 85-76 on Wednesday to win the Finals series 3-2.

Maya Moore had 18 points and ten rebounds as the Lynx pulled away in the fourth quarter to secure the franchise’s fourth title in seven years.

“It’s hard to compare because times change and the talent gets better,” Moore said. “But I don’t know if you’re going to get a more deep, committed, selfless group than we have here.”
