England men’s coach Andreas Kapoulas has reduced his Commonwealth Games squad to 17 after a four-day camp in Manchester.

Among those to miss out were GB cap Joe Hart with the next Team England camp coming in February as a last concerted build-up to Gold Coast 2018.

“The standard has been very high, the effort has been outstanding,” he said. “The whole camp was about a first introduction to the programme leading up to the Commonwealth Games and getting to know each other. Guys wanted to get better through the whole process, very unselfish in the way they did things and it was a real pleasure to work with them.”

It is still unclear, however, whether all the BBL contingent included, or the two overseas based hopefuls, will be released with 1-2 extra players expected to be given their chance to impress before the Games.
