Leicester Riders brief adventure in the Basketball Champions League is over.
The British champions were beaten 103-84 by Bakken Bears in the return leg of their opening qualifying tie, losing 193-161 on aggregate in Aarhus.
But it does not mean the end of continental competition with Riders dropping into the FIBA Europe Cup from next month.
Their hopes of an unlikely revival were ruthlessly extinguished in the opening period with the Danes sweeping 57-24 ahead at half-time.
DeAndre Burnett’s team-high 14 points paves the way for a modest revival in the fourth but it was a convincing, if expected, reverse.
