The two big guns remaining in the BBL Cup have been paired together in the semi-final draw.

London Lions will square off with past winners Newcastle Eagles over two legs in the last four next month in the race to reach Arena Birmingham in January.

The other semi sees Glasgow Rocks meeting Manchester Giants, who now have a great opportunity to reach their first major final since the franchise was reborn.

Dates for the ties have not yet been finalised.

However Gareth Murray reckons Glasgow’s form has turned following consecutive wins for the first time this season in the wake of the poor start to the campaign.

“Before, we weren’t really sure of our identity,” the Great Britain forward said. “We were all over the place. Guys weren’t really remembering our system offensively or defensively. Now it’s about cleaning up the small things.

“I’m hoping two weeks of no games wont kill that momentum from two wins. But there are guys who have niggles and injuries so it gives them a chance to recover.”
