COLLINS EXITS BBL BOARD

Stef Collins is off the board of the British Basketball Federation, it has been confirmed.

Great Britain’s most-capped international was the last holdover from the sweeping changes which began in 2017.

Originally appointed as a player representative, but also designated in a role in charge of welfare issues, she has not been replaced, according to Companies House filings.

The board now consists of its chair Maurice Watkins, Basketball England and Scotland chairs, Clare Wardle and David Davies, Wales representative Keith Mair, official Nicky Shaw, and two non-executive directors: former referee Eddie McKinlay and long-time athletics coach Toni Minichello.

The BBF’s latest set of accounts showed the governing body made a modest surplus in the year ending March 2018 after large losses in 2017, principally due to a large increase in grants provided.
