Plymouth Raiders centre Zak Wells is to retire from basketball at the end of the season.
The former Great Britain Under-20 cap, who has captained the BBL outfit for the past two years, will bow out at the age of 26.
He also played in Slovenia and Spain but will now step away following a decision to quit.
“I know it’s one I will not regret,” he said.
“I have had the privilege of playing professionally for seven years now, both abroad and domestically, and have had the honour of representing my Country with the Great Britain men’s team.
“I always knew that playing basketball wasn’t something I was looking to do for years and years. I now look forward to starting a new career and facing new challenges pursuing various business ventures.
“It has been a pleasure to end my career here in Plymouth, as they have been so good to me, for which I couldn’t be more thankful. I wish them nothing but success in the future and I look forward to following them, and getting to a game to watch next season.â€
