EXTENDED MEDIA DEAL FOR BBL

The British Basketball League has secured an extension to its media deal with Perform.

League officials insist that the new agreement will give the BBL financial security.

However it is understood the accord, as it stands, will no longer involve commentary on all games via live basketball.tv with an expected shift to platforms such as YouTube and Facebook etc. The BBL is expected to make approaches to broadcasters for a television deal but Perform will make streamed coverage available to betting sites through its in-house products.

Bob Hope, Commercial Director of the BBL, said “I am so pleased that Perform has committed to BBL once again and agreed to continue as our exclusive betting rights partner. Their commitment clearly shows the confidence that Perform has in the League.”

“The income generated by this partnership will underpin the financial security of the BBL. It will give us the stability we require to expand our presence in the UK sporting market and beyond even further, as well as enable us to forge new partnerships in a range of commercial sectors.”
