FAHRO TO LONDON

Fahro Alihodzic has joined London Lions.

The Great Britain centre spent last season at Sigal Prishtina in the Balkan League as well as playing in the FIBA Europe Cup, averaging 16 points and 12 boards a game.

The Leicester native, whose wife is expecting their first child, joins after starting the season in Estonia.

He said: “I will do all I can to help push the club to the next level with my experience in Europe.”

A roster spot opened up after the reigning BBL champions unexpectedly cut Matthew Bryan-Amaning last week.

But Lions Head Coach Vince Macaulay added” “It is important to have someone that can operate in the paint, battle hard night in night out who has the experience required for what we want to achieve, he carries himself the right way and has been an instant hit with the team.”

Elsewhere Surrey Scorchers have picked up Evan Walshe from Oaklands.
