Karlie Samuelson will play for the EuroLeague Women title on Sunday night in Istanbul.
The Great Britain guard helped Spanish side Avenida Salamanca defeat Sopron 72-61 in Friday’s semis to tee up a grand finale against perennial Russian power, UMMC Ekaterinburg.
It was a one-shot game when Avenida set the tone for the fourth quarter with what proved to be a vital 10-3 run to finish the third.
Samuelson – who would become the first Brit to land a EuroLeague title – had five points and six rebounds with her sister Katie Lou, a USA international, adding 16 points.
Ekaterinburg are eying up a sixth EuroLeague Women title after squeezing past hosts Fenerbahce 88-84, led by WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart.
