London Lions fended off Bourges to take a 65-64 lead in the first leg of their EuroCup Women playoff first round tie.

In one of the most significant results ever for a British basketball team, Jo Leedham notched 16 points, 8 rebounds for London against her former team as the hosts held a narrow advantage for most of the game.

“This is the biggest win by a [British] female club, ever,” said Lions head coach Mark Clark.

France star Isa Yacoubou had 17 points and 7 rebounds for Bourges who host the return leg next week.
