Scotland’s men and women 3×3 basketballers are bound for Birmingham in July.

The two sides were unbeaten in winning the Commonwealth Games qualifiers in Largs.

Gareth Murray’s men demolished Northern Ireland 21-5 in their final and then saw their female counterparts beat the Northern Irish 21-13 to join them at the Games.

And Glasgow Rocks forward Fraser Malcolm said: “Our goal was to qualify but that is the most nervous I’ve ever been.

“In 3×3, you know there is more variables and there can be shocks. But we were very solid and cohesive and that paid off.”

Like the men, the women were unbeaten in the group games and ended their run in style.

“We are a team with belief,” London Lions guard Kennedy Leonard said. “We’ve not had much time together but we meshed well. And now we have an incredible opportunity in the summer.”
